Srinagar, Apr 02 (KNO): With mustard fields in full bloom, hundreds of tourists are making their way to these vibrant landscapes along the national highway, capturing their experiences through photographs and reels to enjoy their time in Kashmir. As per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the striking contrast of yellow and green hues has been drawing visitors in large numbers over the past two weeks. Local residents have observed a growing trend of tourists pausing their journeys to immerse themselves in the scenic beauty of the mustard fields. Mohammad Sultan, a resident of Awantipora, told KNO that each day, numerous tourists stop their vehicles, spend time in the fields, and take photographs, much like they do at other renowned tourist spots such as Dal Lake, Pahalgam, Gulmarg, and the saffron fields. Mukhtar Ahmad from Aishmuqam, Anantnag, noted that visitors are captivated by the golden blooms, stepping out of their vehicles to enjoy the serenity of the fields. Lateef Ahmad from Tangmarg added that even tourists en route to Gulmarg make a point to stop and photograph the picturesque mustard fields on the outskirts. Speaking to KNO, the tourists expressed their delight at witnessing Kashmir’s breathtaking beauty during spring. Mirat Tripathi, a visitor from Gujarat, shared that spending time in the mustard fields provided him with peace of mind, making spring his preferred season to visit Kashmir. They also lauded Kashmir’s charm, describing its beauty and weather as beyond imagination. “This truly feels like heaven on earth, and spending time here is an unforgettable experience,” they remarked, urging everyone to visit Kashmir at least once in their lifetime. Meanwhile, the officials highlighted the increasing cultivation of mustard fields under a holistic development program. Special initiatives are being taken to promote agro-tourism in Kashmir, further enhancing its appeal as a premier travel destination—(KNO)
